Pregnancy is a Team Sport

One of the most common questions we hear from pregnant mothers receiving pregnancy chiropractic in our office is:
"What can I do at home to help the adjustments?"
The adjustment helps restore proper motion and balance to the spine and pelvis, but what you do between visits matters too.
Here are a few simple things that can make a big difference:
For Mom:
1. Keep Moving
A daily walk is one of the best things you can do during pregnancy. Movement helps circulation, reduces stiffness, and keeps the pelvis mobile.
2. Try Cat-Cow Stretches
A few gentle repetitions on your hands and knees can help relieve tension in the low back and encourage healthy pelvic motion.
3. Use a Birth Ball
Sitting on a stability ball and performing gentle hip circles can reduce pressure, improve comfort, and help maintain pelvic flexibility.
For Dad:
Pregnancy isn't something your wife goes through alone. There are plenty of ways you can help.
1. Be the Massage Therapist
A few minutes of gentle massage to the low back, hips, and shoulders can go a long way after a long day.
2. Encourage Movement
Invite her for a short walk after dinner or help create opportunities to move throughout the day.
3. Become a Pillow Expert
As pregnancy progresses, helping arrange pillows for sleep may be one of the most appreciated things you do all week.
At the end of the day, our goal isn't simply to help Mom feel better. It's to help her body function as efficiently as possible throughout pregnancy.
Adjustments, movement, stretching, rest, and support from a loving spouse all work together to create the best environment possible for both Mom and baby.
After all, pregnancy may last nine months, but it's a journey best traveled together.
Yours in health.
